5.2 Senior Chang is pursuing a Beta
There was a brief moment of silence after that bragging introduction.
Xie An was in thoughts of how the second male lead was his lover this time, that he did not notice the Alpha that was holding him started to sweat.
"My parents are very open and friendly, they don't usually interfere in my business. I also have the monthly cafeteria card that can be used for any meals. And I-"
"Pfft! HAHAHAHA!" Xie An immediately withdrew his thoughts the moment he heard Chang Ru's voice.
Xie An's body shook with laughter in Chang Ru's arms. He almost fell back from laughing too hard if not for Chang Ru tightening his arms.
His lover's character settings never worked in front of him. Was this puppy-like guy holding him to the cold school grass that everyone raved about?
"What's wrong? Is there anything that you don't like?" Chang Ru looked at Xie An nervously, as if Xie An confirmed that he disliked him, then Chang Ru would break down on the spot.
Xie An shook his head and put his arms around Chang Ru's neck. His face was full of smiles as he looked into Chang Ru's eyes.
Chang Ru, who was feeling insecure, was startled by the boy's intimate action. Soon enough, spring appeared on his face as well.
"Why do I need to know about your family? Your studying? And your...money??" Of course, Xie An knew the reason, but hearing it from the cold school grass would be so much more fun.
"Because..." Finally, Chang Ru realized he was being too aggressive toward someone that he just met for the first time. However, the person in his arms was not rejecting his advances, even wrapping his arms around his neck.
Chang Ru, whose expression was unchanging the whole time, raised the corners of his lips.
He was self-aware of his popularity, as so many Omegas and Betas approached him at the start of school. But, he never cared for such things, he only focused on learning to take over his family's company. He turned away from all Omegas and Betas as soon as they approached him, and they gave up soon enough, seeing his attitude.
Recently, a new Omega classmate had been pestering him to tutor him, making him incredibly annoyed. He was going to the teacher's office to request a seat change if Omega kept invading his space. Who knew he would have a love at first sight with the love of his life? Thankfully, it seemed to be the same for that person as well.
"Can I... pursue you?" Chang Ru asked. He actually wanted to ask Xie An to be his boyfriend but he was afraid that he was not showing enough appreciation and respect towards Xie An,
"...?" Xie An was surprised to hear that his lover did not ask him to date right away. Who was this? Was this really his lover?
Xie An looked at Chang Ru suspiciously but could not find anything else in his eyes besides affection. Soon enough, he figured out why and could not help but feel how cute his lover was.
Xie An nodded his head happily under Chang Ru's intense gaze.
"Chang Ru?! W-what are you doing?" A person's loud voice interrupted and popped their pink bubbles.
Behind Chang Ru's back was a small, cute male student being completely shocked. Huh? Xie An realized that person was Fu Xue, the protagonist shou.
Xie An looked at the Omega up and down, making the Omega's body tense up before suddenly realizing something and glaring back at him.
"Did this person force you, Chang Ru?" Fu Xue suddenly stomped forward to them and tried to grab Xie An's shirt.
Seeing such a rude action toward his beloved, Chang Ru frowned and turned away from Fu Xue's touch. Xie An became wrapped in Chang Ru's arms, being completely covered in his embrace.
Looking at Fu Xue's action, Xie An felt something strange. Those eyes looked familiar... like whenever his husband saw him talking to other people, they were always seething with jealousy.
Being so firmly hidden by Chang Ru, only a portion of Xie An's face was revealed to Fu Xue. Through the crack of his lover's arms, Xie An smirked at the main shou. Transversing through multiple worlds during manual mode had taught him a lesson, the characters were never the same as the plot described them.
Who knew what that Fu Xue actually was? He might actually be a worm that tried to control the Alphas to take over the world, for example.
As Xie An lost in his thoughts as always, Fu Xue bit down on his lips. Looking at the firmly protected Beta by the most outstanding Alpha of the school irritated him.
"Chang Ru, who is this person? Did they do anything to you?" As if not wanting to admit that Chang Ru was the person who initiated intimacy with the stranger in his arms, Fu Xue convinced himself that the person, who was smaller than Chang Ru by one head, could force Chang Ru to do anything.
"I don't remember us being so close to disclosing my relationship to you." Chang Ru coldly replied, the tone of voice completely changed compared to when he spoke to Xie An. "But... sooner or later people will know... This person is someone that I am pursuing."
Fu Xue's eyes shook in shock. His mouth was gaping, but no sound was coming out.
After announcing such news, Chang Ru completely ignored the Omega. He focused on the boy inside his embrace, whose head seemed elsewhere.
Looking at such a cute expression, Chang Ru could not bear to call him back to reality but only silently pushed him in another direction away from Fu Xue, leaving the small Omega alone in the hallway.
When Xie An got back to reality, he was surprised to find himself in front of the 10-B classroom's door.
With the sudden appearance of the school grass, all 10-B students stopped all their activities to look at the strange, if not rare, combination of an ordinary Beta and the most outstanding Alpha in the school.
"Can I walk you home after class?" Chang Ru broke the silence by speaking in low warm voice that was seemingly filled with spring. His hand, which was holding Xie An's the whole time, slightly squeezed as if begging for Xie An's approval.
Xie An looked at Chang Ru and then slightly looked at all the dropping jaws of his classmates. He chuckled a bit before nodding his head.
"Go back to your class, Senior Chang. I will wait for you in the classroom." Xie An pushed Chang Ru away, urging him to go back to class.
Chang Ru nodded, but his head kept turning back, looking lingering at Xie An.
How could Xie An let him go if he kept being so pitiful? As Xie An tried to call out to the pitiful Alpha, his collar was immediately grabbed, making his body stumble backward.
One of his classmates with a bewildered look was holding his collar. His mouth was moving like he wanted to say something, but before he could, another female classmate jumped out from behind.
"Wasn't that senior Chang?!? Our Alpha school grass?!? The one who always scores top one?!?" A stream of questions was pouring from the enthusiastic female classmate.
Xie An, being dizzy at her continuous questions, blindly nodded. A brief silence occurred in the room before everyone busted out in gossip.
More people began approaching him with curiosity on their faces. At least, Xie An felt relieved that there was no animosity about 'stealing the top qualified Alpha'.
"Why are you kids not in your seats?! The class began a few minutes ago! Go back to your seats!"
A sudden roar from behind Xie An made him startled. It was the teacher of the evening class.
All the curiosity disappeared from the students' eyes as they scrambled back to their seat, letting Xie An breath out a sigh of relief.
Of course, he knew that the moment class ended, they would come swarming for some hot gossips.
Surprisingly, no one actually came to Xie An at all. Because just after the bell rang signalling the end of a school day, Chang Ru immediately appeared by the door looking for Xie An, so it left them no chance to approach the Beta.
Even though Chang Ru was one of the most desired Alpha in the school, he was so cold and distant to all that there was always a wall that prevented others to come closer to make friends.
Chang Ru naturally walked inside the classroom as if it was his own. Navigating through all the curious eyes, he finally reached his beloved.
The cold face that was displaying to everyone was immediately replaced with a smiling face. He grabbed Xie An's bag after the Beta had finished packing up to hang over his shoulder.
"Let's go." Xie An grinned at him and reached out his hand.
Chang Ru's smile became deeper as their ten fingers were intertwined. He was glad that Xie An was the one who made the first move, as well as did it in front of everyone.
The pair had an impenetrable lovey-dovey atmosphere surrounding them, not caring for all the dropped jaws in the classroom.
When the PDA couple finally left, they immediately took their phones out and logged on the school forum.
