Protective Twins [Ouran Host Club x Yuji!Reader]
Chapter 10
The sound of (Y/n)'s giggling woke Sukuna's mind as the harsh sun loomed down at him. Sukuna covers his eyes immediately from the harsh sunlight and sits up from the chair. He groans and looks for his twin. Instead, he was met with a face full of water, as Hikaru sprayed Sukuna's face with water. "You little shit!" Sukuna yells as he gets out of his chair and chases after Hikaru.
As he ran after Hikaru, he didn't notice the lack of people around the pool, too focused on catching up to Hikaru. Is it him, or was the orange-haired bastard faster than usual? When he lost Hikaru around the corner, a different twin ran out and shot more water at Sukuna. "Kaoru!" Sukuna hissed as he chased after the other twin.
"To slow!" Karou cackled as he slipped around the corner, passing by Tamaki, who held a squirt gun. Sukuna is charging at Tamaki, who looked ready to crap himself. "AHH!" Tamaki screamed as he scrambled away, only to slip on water and slide right into a Tiki statue. Sukuna sighed angrily as he looked for the two culprits.
But, his search was interrupted by a loud alarm blaring off, as the TIki flashed red. "What the hell was that?" Sukuna questions. In response, the earth below him started to shake and a large wave surfaced from the pool. It was so large, it was a miracle it stayed in the pool. The wave was heading straight for (Y/n), who was playing in the water, oblivious to the danger.
Sukuna's eyes widen and he begins running towards (Y/n). "(Y/n), (Y/n) move!" Sukuna yells, trying to get his attention. It seemed like his brother couldn't hear him as the water kept getting further and further away. Or was he just not fast enough to get to the water?
As the wave swept through, the last Sukuna saw of (Y/n) was the horrified look on his face. When the water settled, there were no traces of (Y/n) left. "(Y/n)!" Sukuna yells as he follows the river's path. His vision clouded with worry and haze, as he seemed to search the surface of the water for any signs of life.
Only to be briefly stopped by large alligators, blocking his path. Kyoya actually placed alligators in here?! Sukuna's eyes widen again, but they then quickly narrow because no reptile will stop him from getting his twin! As he got close to the alligators they snapped their jaws at him, narrowly capturing him in their jaws. He leaps over them, one of the gators nearly grabbing his ankle. Sukuna avoid their jaws, running from the reptiles, and continue down the river path.
As he effectively got around the alligators, the water path came to a halt, stopping at a glass wall. Sukuna pressed his hands against the glass, wondering where the hell (Y/n) went. He should've been in this area. Sukuna notices that he can't see the outside world beyond the glass, not even his own reflection.
Maybe it's something Kyoya implemented into the enclosure he's in. Not that it mattered much, as he still needed to find his brother. Stepping away from the glass, he looked around for any signs of his brother. Somehow, his eyes caught onto visible watermarks in the shape of footprints. How he had not noticed them before was beyond him.
Sukuna follows the tracks, rushing as he does not know if (Y/n) is okay or not. The trees around him seemed to get thicker and smoke started to cloud the ground, forcing him to squint in order to see the footprints. He forces himself to squeeze through the thick trees and bushes, calling out (Y/n)'s name. "(Y/n)! Brother! Answer me!"
"(Y/n)– Gah!" Sukuna's call was cut off as he stumbled over something. Regaining his balance, he looked over at the thing that tripped him. Below him lay a large tiger, blood coating the ground around it. His eyes widen when he sees the dead animal and he doesn't know what to make of it. Tigers are tough animals, dangerous and absolute killing machines.
As he looked closer, he noticed something sticking out of the tiger's mouth. It looked a lot like a human hand. Sukuna begins to panic. "No, no, no, no, no!" Sukuna panics as he begins frantically searching the area. That's when he spotted (Y/n), lying lifelessly against a tree, covered in blood.
"(Y/n)...?" Sukuna mutters in shock as he stares at (Y/n)'s lifeless body. (Y/n) didn't respond or even move. Hastily, Sukuna rushed over to his brother, he needed to make sure his brother was still alive. He didn't care about the blood that got on him as he flipped (Y/n) over. His eyes shook in horror as he spotted the large gash on (Y/n)'s chest.
"No, fuck! (Y/n) come on!" Sukuna yells as he begins doing CPR. But all that did was make blood squirt out of (Y/n)'s wounds. "Shit, I'm sorry!" Sukuna quickly apologized as he did his best to not injure (Y/n) further. "S...Sukuna" His name was barely audible, but he swore he heard something. But, it couldn't have been from (Y/n), or was his mind playing tricks on him?
Before he could think further, a bloodied hand grabbed his arm and was yanked down. (Y/n)'s soulless, colorless, eyes peered straight into his soul. "Wake up." On command, Sukuna let out a loud gasp as he jolted up from the chair he was sleeping on. "Sukuna?" (Y/n) called as he stood next to his brother, worry clear on his face.
Sukuna wasted no time getting out of his chair and examining (Y/n) and his body. "Where are you hurt?! I just saw many wounds on you! Where the fuck is that tiger?! I will rip its corpse apart!" (Y/n) was bombarded with questions, clearly startled and confused. "Woah, woah! Calm down, I'm fine, see?" (Y/n) said as he patted himself to showcase he wasn't hurt.
(Y/n) gently gripped Sukuna's shoulders and eased him back into the chair. "You're fine, I'm fine, we're all fine. There's no tiger of any sort around here... Erm... At least I don't think there is?" (Y/n) questioned. Sukuna instead just sits back up and grips (Y/n)'s wrist harshly. "I am not letting you out of my sight for two weeks," Sukuna said, hissing a bit. That nightmare really rattled him.
"Okay... I think we should have Kyoya check on you," (Y/n) said nervously as he tried to pull away. Kyoya, the very man that started it all in his dream, that name was practically a trigger word now. "No! Not that prick! I just need to watch over you! Is that so bad?!" Sukuna practically shouts, his eyes crazed.
(Y/n) was starting to get a little scared now, his brother usually doesn't act this way. Sukuna remains quiet, sticking to his brother like glue, closer now more than ever if that was possible. His eyes are also moving frantically as if looking out for danger. "Suki-Chan! Are you two ready to go home?!" Honey called out as he mistakenly touched Sukuna's shoulder.
"Don't touch me you little vulture!" Sukuna shouts, shoving Honey off of him. "Wah!" Honey cried like a child as he ran over to Mori for safety. "Woah, what happened to him?" Karou asked in disbelief. "You guys go ahead of us, I'll call someone to pick us up," (Y/n) assured them, as Sukuna glared darkly at the group. None of them hesitated to quickly leave as Sukuna glared at them. He wonders who his twin will call, better not be a stranger.
Despite the protective grip, restricting (Y/n) from moving, he managed to grab his phone and quickly typed "SOS" and a location marker to someone. He shuts off his phone before Sukuna can see who he sent it to. "Who did you message?" Sukuna demanded, still in high protective mode.
"Someone I know who can help," (Y/n) assured as he glanced over to his brother. "So... Do you mind telling me what happened in your dream?" He asked curiously, as he changed the subject. "No," Sukuna snaps, keeping his eyes on their surroundings. But he does take a deep breath, feeling bad for snapping at him. "No I don't want to talk about it," he said a bit more softly now.
"It was that bad, huh?" (Y/n) mumbled as he looked at Sukuna worriedly. Sukuna's stature falters a bit as he remembers seeing (Y/n)'s lifeless, or almost lifeless, body, the blood, the dismemberment. He doesn't reply to (Y/n), but his small faltered action is enough to say yes. (Y/n) doesn't say anything as he places a comforting hand against Sukuna's leg, to show that he won't go anywhere and won't ask more questions on the matter.
Sukuna is still tense, but with the gesture of comfort from his twin he calmed down by five percent. "...Dammit I snapped at that kid," Sukuna mutters, remembering Honey's cries. "You did... Though, I don't really think Honey counts as a kid," (Y/n) noted as he shifted around the chair to get more comfortable. "He looks like one, I'm still betting he's just really smart and skipped all grades to get into high school," Sukuna theorized.
"I don't know, I saw him standing next to an actual kid and he looks larger and older. It's kind of odd," (Y/n) hummed as he gripped his chin in thought. "That is odd," Sukuna mutters. (Y/n) then leans against Sukuna's shoulder, gently bonking their heads together. "Do you think Mom and Dad would ever come back from their trip overseas?" He asked in a soft tone.
"You know they're more concerned over their business than us," Sukuna grumbles, bitterly. (Y/n) frowned at his brother's words. "You know... I know you don't want to take over their business, I can–" Sukuna was quick to stop him. "Stop right there, I don't want you to have your soul sucked out just from taking over the family business, you don't deserve that," Sukuna said, leaving no room to debate.
"But you deserve to have a life too! You always prioritize my happiness over your own," (Y/n) argued anyway, too stubborn to back down. "Even right now, you're making sure I'm safe and happy," he said as he gestured to how close they are. "I want you to be happy too..." He mumbled with a guilty look. Sukuna sighs and then that nightmare plagues his mind again.
No, no he needs to keep (Y/n) safe. That's his reason for being in this world, it's all he was born for. Ever since they were kids he knew he needed to protect his brother. It's all he's good for. "No, I will keep you safe!" Sukuna hissed under his breath. "I won't let you down (Y/n), you'll live a happy life."
"Did you not hear a word I said?" (Y/n) whined, a bit frustrated with his brother. "I heard what you said but I'm not listening, dammit (Y/n) why won't you just let me keep you safe!" Sukuna argues. "Because I'm not worth it!" (Y/n) exclaimed as tears gathered in his eyes. "You would've been better off if I wasn't even born," he said as his hands clenched into fists.
Sukuna grabs (Y/n) by his shoulders and pulls him close. "Don't you ever, ever, say that shit again!" Sukuna hissed, angrily. "My life would be hell if I didn't have you by my side! You don't understand how much you influence me (Y/n)i. If you weren't here I would fall into the wrong crowd like Mahito!"
(Y/n) visibly flinches at the name, which could've been mistaken for being startled by how rough Sukuna is. Shakily, (Y/n) grabbed Sukuna's arms and looked down at his lap. "Please don't turn out like Mahito... Please" he practically begged. Sukuna pulls (Y/n) in for a hug, sighing. "Dumbass, I could never turn out like him, he believes in using people. If I did that I wouldn't have my brother with me now would I?"
(Y/n) absentmindedly nodded as he hugged Sukuna back. It wasn't one of his tight hugs, thankfully. "Oi, what kind of piss poor hug is this, you better break my damn spine (Y/n)," Sukuna demands, now hugging (Y/n) tighter. "Eh?! I don't want to hurt you!" (Y/n) exclaimed in alarm as he let his arms fall to Sukuna's sides.
"Give me a damn hug you wuss!" Sukuna barks, now forcing (Y/n)'s arms around him. "I'm not fragile, hug me!" He demanded his twin. (Y/n) panicked slightly, giving a quick pity hug, and tried to squirm away. "That's it, Jennifer Lawerence is getting burned," Sukuna said, as he got up and turned to walk in a random direction to burn (Y/n)'s poster.
"No!" (Y/n) exclaimed as he quickly tackled Sukuna to the ground, gripping him tightly. "Let me go or give me a hug!" Sukuna shouts, squirming from the tackle. "No!" (Y/n) exclaimed as he held on tightly. Their little scuffle was soon interrupted by the sound of footsteps and a shadow looming over them.
"What the hell am I witnessing right now?" Megumi asked as he stared down at them in confusion. Sukuna and (Y/n) halted and they turned to Megumi who was holding his cell phone and was looking at the weird twins. "Blessing?" Sukuna asked, confused. In a flash, (Y/n) was pushed off of Sukuna, and Sukuna hugged Megumi tightly.
"I do not consent to this," Megumi grumbled, deadpanning. Sukuna ignores Megumi's words, nuzzling his face into the crook of Megumi's neck. "Megumi! You finally made it!" (Y/n) chirped as he pat Megumi on the shoulder. "You messaged Megumi?" Sukuna asked, pulling away from his boyfriend to face his twin. "Yeah, I figured he could help with whatever happened," (Y/n) said with a shrug.
"I see...." Sukuna trails off. "I would appreciate it if you sent more than just a SOS and a location" Megumi complained, as he crossed his arms. The nice moment has passed and Sukuna is on edge once again because he now has two people to look out for. "So what's the issue anyways?" Megumi asked as he looked around. (Y/n) motions to Sukuna who is now tense and rigid again, eyes scanning like there's an oncoming attack.
"This is the issue," (Y/n) whispers to Megumi. "Yeah... That doesn't help at all," Megumi grumbled as he stared at Sukuna. "Well, I don't know!" (Y/n) whispered yells. "He won't tell me what's wrong, but he did have some kind of nightmare so..." Megumi let out a frustrated sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Sukuna, what are you even looking for? There's no one else here but us" Megumi asked, trying to get a better understanding of the situation. "That we can see," Sukuna said, keeping his guard up. "Anything could attack us at any moment, waiting to kill us." (Y/n) slowly turns to Megumi and motions that they should get Sukuna home as fast as possible.
Megumi sighed again, he did not sign up for this today. The sound of splashing in the water caught Sukuna's attention. As alert as Sukuna is, he grabbed what he thought was a threat and wasted no time to threaten it back. "If you touch my brother or boyfriend I will-!!!" Sukuna paused when he saw it was a fish he grabbed. All the fish did was jump out of the water.
"Okay, let the fish go, playtime is over," Megumi said as he grabbed Sukuna's arm. Sukuna drops the fish in the water and follows Megumi. "Now tell me what the problem is, why the hell are you on edge?" Megumi asked in a demanding tone. Sukuna huffs as he looks to the side. "It's nothing, it's nothing big," Sukuna mutters.
"Sure, catching a fish mid-air is nothing," (Y/n) commented as he walked up to them and matched Sukuna's pace. "Really it's nothing, I'm sure you can even catch a fish mid-air," Sukuna plays it off. "And threaten its whole existence for just jumping at you?" Megumi asked with a raised brow. "It could've been a piranha, knowing how these club members lack brains they would put them in the river," Sukuna said, trying to change the subject.
"Dude, that was a koi fish," (Y/n) said with furrowed brows. "Could've easily been a piranha," Sukuna said with a shrug. "Anyways how are we getting home?" Sukuna asked, quickly changing the subject. Megumi and (Y/n) looked at each other and let out a sigh. "I brought my car over," Megumi said as they walked out of the water park.
During the whole car ride, Megumi drove, having to forcefully shove himself into the driver's seat. Sukuna insisted on driving, but with how on edge he seemed to be, they forced Sukuna into the back seat so he could at least mellow out. The car ride was silent, with music playing at a low volume, and Megumi glanced at his review mirror to check on his boyfriend.
Sukuna's jaw is clenched tightly as he glares out the car window, he can see a vein popping out of his neck. As much as Megumi wants to demand to know what has Sukuna worked up, he knows that Sukuna is equally as stubborn as him and won't answer with confrontation. He just has to let Sukuna calm down.
Eventually, they made it back to (Y/n) and Sukuna's home, as desolate as ever. As Megumi and (Y/n) shuffled out of the car, they had to usher Sukuna out. Sukuna is a lot calmer, but he was still on the lookout for oncoming threats. They eventually got him into the living room and Megumi forced him onto the couch as (Y/n) moved to the kitchen out of Sukuna's sight.
"Let's go to the kitchen," Sukuna said, standing up and ready to take Megumi to the kitchen with him. "No, you need to sit down and chill out, (Y/n) is just going to make us some food," Megumi said as he forced Sukuna back down. "Well let's go see if he needs help," Sukuna argues as he tries to get up again. "He doesn't need help," Megumi said as he sat down next to Sukuna and held onto his arm. Sukuna lets out a sigh and stays right beside his boyfriend. This was going to be a long day.

~Bonus Scene~
"Guys you would not believe what just happened to me," the fish said as it turned to its buddies. "What happened to you?" one of the fish asked. "So, I jumped after some fruit flies, and this guy grabbed me mid-air!" The fish exclaimed. "No way!" Another fish said, gasping in shock. "Yes, way! Then he started screaming something! I don't even know what he was saying!" The fish said a bit dramatically.
"How did you escape?" The first fish friend asked, terrified. "I didn't, this other guy forced the first guy to let me go!" The fish said with a motion of its fins. "Humans are scary creatures," the other fish mumbled.
