The wolf wailed and howled to the moon;
"If only if I had a friend!"
Instead he got two,
That would make it to the very end;
One was a mighty wolf
That was too timid for his own good
And a Lunca boy
Who was plainly misunderstood.
The Lunca boy saw the two
And vowed to go against all;
To stand with the beasts
For the moon's rise and fall
The king saw from afar
And said to the Maiden
"Get those boys back here,
So we can train them."
And here I am, to speak the tale
In the right time and choruses;
In the fire and smoke, they have emerged.
This is the story of the dark horses
