Chapter 22
A/n: For those who want to know, yes this is a real place, I am not telling you where :p
It had been silent the whole drive back home. Even after a ton of reassurance from Sukuna and Megumi, (Y/n) still didn't forgive himself for causing Sukuna stress and creating a massive problem. Overall, he felt like a shit brother for even trying to do anything involving their parents. They finally arrived at Megumi's home, dropping him off was the main priority before dealing with their parents.
"Sukuna... I think you should stay here with Megumi, I will go home, alone," (Y/n) said as he looked down at his lap. "I've put you through so much shit yesterday, it's only fair I take the fall for my mistakes," he said, feeling this was the best way to make up for what he did. "Well apparently the last time I did that you were committing a shit ton of crimes," Sukuna said, glaring at (Y/n). "Oh no wait, you went behind my back to do that. Like hell I'm leaving you alone, for all I know you'll offer up your soul to make me happy."
"I said I was sorry..." (Y/n) mumbled as he looked like a kicked puppy. "Don't be too harsh on him," Megumi scolded Sukuna lightly. He didn't need (Y/n) to feel worse than he already felt. "No, Sukuna is right..." (Y/n) mumbled, frowning. "But, I also should own up to my mistakes. You shouldn't take the fall for it," he said as he looked up towards Sukuna. Sukuna lets out a sigh and nods. "Alright, but I'm still coming with you and if they ever dare make you unhappy I will make sure Satoru fulfills his promise," Sukuna hissed as his hands formed into fists.
"I doubt they can make me more unhappy than I already am..." (Y/n) grumbled. "Do you need me to be there as well?" Megumi asked Sukuna worriedly, Sukuna shook his head no. "They insulted Geto yesterday, if they said something to you I would be in jail within five seconds," Sukuna grumbles. "They insulted Geto? Is he alright?" (Y/n) asked worriedly.
Sukuna nods, running his fingers through his own hair. "He was a bit grumpy, but he's fine," Sukuna reassures (Y/n). "If you're sure you don't need me there, I'll see you tomorrow?" Megumi asked Sukuna as he hopped out of the car. Sukuna nods, looking at his boyfriend with gentle eyes. "Yeah I'll see you tomorrow and hopefully have a better summer vacation," Sukuna said, smiling.
"Hopefully," Megumi said as he let out a sigh, and closed the car door. The car drove off, heading to (Y/n) and Sukuna's home. (Y/n) leaned against the car door, giving Sukuna a decent amount of space. Sukuna leans into his hand as his expression is slightly angry. Sukuna doesn't argue or say anything, he just remains silent stewing in his anger.
"Sukuna? I know you're mad... But I thought you'd be happy," (Y/n) said, trying to explain his thoughts as he did to Megumi. Sukuna pinches the bridge of his nose. "Why would I be happy with this outcome?" He asked (Y/n). "I mean, aside from forging your name, I thought you'd be happy that I was letting you be free of our parents. Get them off your back, you know? I just... I didn't know doing that would ruin your reputation entirely if it went through," (Y/n) explained with a frown.
"(Y/n), that is not why I am mad," Sukuna mutters. "It's not?" (Y/n) questioned, looking a bit confused. "I'm mad because you went behind my back and did all of this," Sukuna grumbled until he realized something. He took out Mahito without (Y/n) knowing about it, so why does he get mad at (Y/n) for doing something similar?
"Because I knew you would try and stop me. I was trying to do my brotherly duty and protect you. But... You know how that went," (Y/n) said as he rubbed the back of his neck. Sukuna sighs and ruffles (Y/n)'s hair. "You just need some tips and know who you're allies are," Sukuna instructs. "If we didn't know Satoru you would be abroad and I'd be in jail."
"Megumi told me I'd be in jail abroad, that doesn't sound too fun," (Y/n) admitted with a sheepish grin. (Y/n) then frowned, not really wanting to go home, then perked up suddenly. "Hey, driver, can you go to this location?" (Y/n) asked as he showed the driver the location on his phone. When he sat down, Sukuna looked at (Y/n) confused. "Are you planning to get us both sent abroad? If so we have to bring Megumi with us," Sukuna said, leaning back into his seat.
"No, I'm not sensing us abroad, but I am sending us to a fun place!" (Y/n) chirped, sounding excited. It took a while to get to the destination, but when they did, they were immediately greeted by a large structure. In the middle was a fountain, in front of it was a massive statue of a whale, to its right was a DNA strand structure, and to the left was the entrance to the building. "Where the hell are we?" Sukuna asked, looking taken aback.
"We are at a science building. Every so often they do fun exhibits. I just remembered they had a fun exhibit today and figured you wouldn't mind checking it out," (Y/n) explained to him. Sukuna hums, examining the place. "So what's the exhibit today?" Sukuna asked his twin.
"That's a surprise! Come on, why don't we check out the whale?" (Y/n) asked as he grabbed Sukuna's arm, forcing him to follow. Sukuna grumbles as he lets (Y/n) drag him around, but is curious as to what this place holds. When they arrived at the structure, it was much larger up close. People climbed on it and messed around it. He wouldn't be surprised if it was the actual size of a whale.
"Beat you to the top!" (Y/n) exclaimed as he let go of Sukuna and climbed up the side of the statue. But ended up losing traction, forcing him to grab onto the back of the structure. Sukuna quickly raced up the structure. By the time he got up there, (Y/n) managed to get onto the structure fully. They were a good 4 feet up from the ground.
"Well? What do you think? Isn't this fun?" (Y/n) asked as he gripped onto the back fin. Why was (Y/n) suddenly happy? Was he trying to avoid something? (Y/n) was acting weird and Sukuna didn't like it. 'Trying to avoid talking about what happened?' Sukuna thought, frowning. "Now to go inside!" (Y/n) cheered as he goes to slid down from the whale, but Sukuna stopped him.
"What is really going on, (Y/n)? Why are you acting all happy all of a sudden?" Sukuna asked, with an evident frown on his face. (Y/n)'s smile faltered before letting out a sigh. "You do know I'm doing this to make up for all the stress I caused you, right?" (Y/n) said honestly. "You probably won't enjoy everything we see, but I'm just hoping we can start this summer correctly this time," he mumbled as he looked down in shame.
Sukuna stares at (Y/n) for a few seconds and sighs. "I'm not as mad as I was before, but I don't blame you (Y/n)," Sukuna starts, trying to sound comforting. "I don't know if our parents said something or did something to make you jump to this steep conclusion. Sending one of us abroad, was it? If you came to me we would have solved it together," he scolded his twin lightly.
"But what if we couldn't? What then? You get sent abroad?" (Y/n) asked as he looked up at Sukuna with a look of dread. "I don't want you to go abroad, especially if it's to protect me," he stated seriously. Sukuna couldn't help but laugh. Damn, his twin really doesn't understand the powerful connections Sukuna has. They are friends with the third richest family in the country, and Geto, unknowingly to (Y/n), has connections to the underworld.
Though that is Sukuna's fault, he wants to keep his brother out of that dark circle. "(Y/n) neither of us would be sent, but I hear your worries," Sukuna said as he squeezed (Y/n)'s shoulder. "Just know that we will never be our parents' puppets, we have friends who can help us any time." (Y/n) nodded silently at Sukuna's words but still didn't look too assured by them.
"Also... Uhm... I just remembered something," (Y/n) said with a sheepish look. "We forgot to tell the club members that we left to go home," he reminded, feeling a bit bad he forgot, but Sukuna shrugged his shoulders. "They're probably too busy harassing Haruhi, (Y/n) what can I do to make you feel better or reassured?" Sukuna asked seriously. It's like nothing he tries or says is helping (Y/n) at all. He sucks at comforting people.
"Poor Haruhi... I'll try to contact her later. And what do you mean? I'm very reassured! So reassured that we should go into the science building!" (Y/n) said, clearly dodging the question. Before Sukuna could grab (Y/n) he was already heading to the building. "Dammit brat," Sukuna mutters, following after him.
"You'll be ecstatic when you see what's inside! Promise," (Y/n) said as he opened the door. Walking through, Sukuna immediately spotted the robot dinosaur positioned in the front for everyone to see. "Go, go check it out, I'll go pay for our tickets," (Y/n) said as he shoved Sukuna forward and headed off to the counter.
It was a large space, it's a circular room, with a large set of stairs in the middle, heading downstairs. To the right is the robot dinosaur set up near an air canon that kids can play with and a hall that continues into the building. To the left is a large set of push pins to make funny faces or figures. "Are we in the future and past?" Sukuna asked sarcastically while amused.
(Y/n) didn't hear a word as he was talking to the desk lady. When (Y/n) glanced over at him, he made a wave motion to explore the surroundings. Sukuna wouldn't have to go far, as (Y/n) will be done soon. Sukuna walks around, looking at the robot dinosaur setup. He takes a quick picture of Megumi, from his new phone that he bought. Immediately, Megumi sent a message back.
"What the– Weren't you going home? Why is there a dinosaur?"
"I'm back! What do you think of the robot? Interesting right? Now, do you want to go downstairs? North wing? East wing? West wing? Oh! There's also outside," (Y/n) rambled, not giving Sukuna a chance to say anything. At this point, Sukuna lets (Y/n) drag him around because he doesn't know where the hell to go or what to do.
First up was heading through the hall, it felt like a maze before ending up in a high-tech planetarium room. In the room, it was mostly blank, aside from the massive planet in front of them, sitting in the middle of the room. "See this? It's the consul to mess with the planet, why don't you try it?" (Y/n) suggested as he shoved Sukuna towards the machine.
"Sure shove me hard into something I can smash my face in," Sukuna mumbled as he touched the consul. On the screen are different types of planets to look at, what he just touched was Mars. Instantly, the planet changed to look like Mars, it was quite detailed. Sukuna has to admit it, he was amazed by this. He switched through the planets, even planets he never heard of. Looks like they added more than the solar system.
"Well, what do you think? Cool, right?" (Y/n) asked, looking giddy. Until a little kid shoved their way through and shoved themselves next to Sukuna to press on the consul. Now, usually, Sukuna is decent with kids, but this kid was straight up getting into Sukuna's personal space and fighting him with the consul. And with the added stress he went through he was close to losing his shit. So he "gently" nudged the kid back with his hip.
The kid stumbled to the ground and instantly started whaling like a siren. "I think we should move onward," (Y/n) nervously said as he ushered Sukuna out. "Uhm... Look! There's a giant dino out front in the yard! Let's check it out!" He exclaimed as he pointed at the large window leading outside. Sukuna brushes his hair back.
"Alright let's see the giant fossil," Sukuna hummed. Damn, he can still hear that child wail, he didn't even hit him that hard. It's not his fault the brat was weak. Walking outside, there was a massive T-Rex robot next to the door. A little walkway around a pond, and a beautiful view of the city. Sukuna sends another picture to Megumi..
"So, we got holding animals and more dinosaur robots. Which one do you want to see first?" (Y/n) asked Sukuna. Hardly giving Sukuna time to admire the space around them. "Animals, at least they're cute and fluffy," Sukuna said then slowly looked glum. "Unless we're petting furless creatures," Sukuna mutters unhappily. "No way, only furless creatures they'll let us pet are reptiles or bugs. Come on, I'll take you to them!" (Y/n) said as he grabbed Sukuna's arm and started to drag him again.
Sukuna lets (Y/n) drag him to the animals, not sure what to expect. They had to head downstairs to find the room, when they got inside, they spotted tanks filled with different bugs and reptiles. (Y/n) let Sukuna go as he walked up to the whiteboard to see what animal they were bringing out next, and at what time. Sukuna looks into a bug cage and he grunts, scrunched his face up in disgust. "What an ugly little shit," he said.
"Excuse me, I need to get into that cage," an employee politely said to Sukuna, with a key in their hand. When Sukuna moved out of the way, the employee opened the cage and took out the creature. It looked between a breed of scorpion and a spider. Sukuna swears it was eyeing him up and down.
"You wanna go?" Sukuna asked the bug. Before the bug could do anything, the employee walked away towards a table that had a glass barrier. "Hey! Sukuna, guess what, turns out they're letting people hold what's called a Whip Spider," (Y/n) excitedly told Sukuna. "Whip Spider?" Sukuna repeats in a questioning tone.
"Not sure, want to check it out?" (Y/n) asked curiously. Sukuna didn't get to answer as (Y/n) dragged him towards the animal he was staring at earlier. "You again," Sukuna hissed at the bug. The bug turned around and stared up at him. "You know this bug?" (Y/n) asked, looking a bit surprised. "Yeah this bug wants a fight," Sukuna said, ready to beef with the insect. "It's an insect. I doubt it has much intelligen–" (Y/n) stopped talking as the bug jumped onto his chest.
Looking down, (Y/n) stared in horror at the bug. "AH! GET IT OFF!!" (Y/n) screamed as he flailed and ran around hysterically. "(Y/n) hold still!" Sukuna yells, chasing after him. "Get it off!!" (Y/n) cried as he tried shaking off the bug. The employees panicked trying to get him to calm down or stay still to no avail.
Sukuna finally caught (Y/n), holding him in a bear hug and forcing him to stay still long enough for the employees to get the insect off of him. "Brother calm down, if you keep running around you might agitate it!" Sukuna said, holding (Y/n) tightly. "But it's gross and weird! AH! It's getting closer!!" (Y/n) cried as tears started streaming down his face in absolute fear.
He started kicking and struggling in Sukuna's hold as the bug climbed towards his face, his resistance made Sukuna struggle to hold him down. "Get it off! Please! Get it off!" (Y/n) pleaded through sobs. The employees quickly get the bug off of (Y/n) and Sukuna loosens his grip, now just hugging his brother and comforting him. "There, they got the bug off of you," Sukuna reassures him.
"You sure? I still feel it crawling on me. What if there's more of them?" (Y/n) mumbled as he clung to Sukuna for dear life. Sukuna just lets (Y/n) cling to him and pat his back. "There's no other bugs, it was just the one and if there were more I would crush out their feeble lives with my shoes," Sukuna promised.
At his words, the employees flinched and quickly placed the bug away in its cage. "I'm sorry... I'm really sorry. I ruined your day again," (Y/n) apologized profusely, now feeling bad for freaking out. "Hm? You didn't ruin it, in fact, you made it much livelier," Sukuna said, chuckling then smirking. "I never knew you screamed like a girl," he teased lightly.
"I don't scream like a girl," (Y/n) mumbled, pouting. "I am quite manly," he argued as he let go of Sukuna to flex his arms. Until he felt a prickling sensation along his arms. "GAH!" (Y/n) screamed loudly as he jumped onto Sukuna. Back to clinging to him for dear life.
"Mhm, quite manly," Sukuna said, behind the prickling sensation. He just used his fingers to make it feel like a bug was crawling on (Y/n). "Shut up," (Y/n) grumbled as he got off of Sukuna with an evident pout. "Can we leave this room now? I don't want to be around more bugs," he asked with a hopeful look. Sukuna leads his twin out of the room and heads back to the dinosaurs.
Heading upstairs, they go back through the maze and come across the left wing. The entrance was covered in fake tropical plants and an evident walkway. "So long as they don't have plants that eat people we should be fine," Sukuna said, making a lame joke. "If you get eaten I'm not saving you," (Y/n) said as he walked forward. Sukuna follows, inspecting the plants close and sends Megumi a picture of a pretty blue flower. He also sent a message.
"This made me think of you."
"Thanks?"
"Also, where the fuck are you?"
"Sukuna, look! This dino is giving you the stink eye," (Y/n) said as he pointed at a raptor. Sukuna glares at the raptor, the fucker interrupted his time to text Megumi. "It looks really wonky like it was bought at a cheap toy factory," Sukuna insults the raptor. "Ouch, way to tear down a robot. Don't worry buddy, I like you," (Y/n) assured the raptor. In turn, the robot turned away to screech randomly. But to the twins, it seemed like it was denying (Y/n)'s assurance. "Ah! My heart!" (Y/n) whined dramatically as he gripped his chest.
"Don't worry brother, you will find a reptile girlfriend one day," Sukuna said, giving (Y/n) pity taps. "I hope Megumi turns into a reptile," (Y/n) grumbles. "He would be a cute lizard," Sukuna said, shrugging. "I cursed him to turn into that creepy spider thing from earlier," (Y/n) shot back. Sukuna looks at his twin, offended. "And I curse you to wake up tomorrow with 20 of those things on you!" Sukuna shoots back.
"I hope you crush Megumi in your sleep!" (Y/n) exclaimed as he butted his forehead against Sukuna's forehead. Sukuna practically headbutted (Y/n) as well. "I hope it storms so your ceiling will be ruined and your Jennifer Lawrence posters are ruined!" Sukuna exclaims.
"I hope–" "Will you two move?! My kid wants to see the dinosaur!" A lady interrupted, looking quite pissed. "Back off, you old hag!" Sukuna snapped at her. "Sukuna!" (Y/n) gasped loudly, before turning to the lady. "I am so sorry! We'll move," he assured as he shoved Sukuna forward. "Anyways... Where were we? Oh right, I hope your ceiling crushes all the Megumi pictures you have," (Y/n) retorted with crossed arms.
"You fucking take that back!" Sukuna hissed, grabbing (Y/n) by his shirt. "No! Also, why do you have so many of them?! It's creepy," (Y/n) said with a disturbed look. Sukuna looks offended at that. "What? A boyfriend can't have some pictures of his boyfriend?" Sukuna asked, crossing his arms against his chest. "Yeah, on your phone! Not in your closet with hearts and shit around it. I think I even saw one of him naked," (Y/n) said with a slight shiver.
"Ah shit, you saw that? He's going to kill me," Sukuna mutters. He needs to hide the pictures better, Megumi trusted him with that. "Yeah, I saw it! You're shit at hiding those things," (Y/n) said as he rubbed at his face. "Oh please you're one to talk, I found your magazine of women in bikinis," Sukuna said, rolling his eyes.
"Look, those women are professional, supermodels. While your pictures are of your boyfriend! Does he even know about this?" (Y/n) asked as people walked by, looking at them funny. Why were they arguing in the middle of the exhibit? "Of course, he knows!" Sukuna snaps. "You think I am capable of taking pictures of him like that without his consent?!" Okay, now Sukuna was getting really riled up. At first, it was a small game, but it's devolving into something bigger.
"I mean, not the naked ones, but maybe the other ones. You're weirdly possessive about him, you know," (Y/n) explained nervously. Sukuna takes a deep breath and runs his fingers through his hair. He supposes (Y/n) wasn't wrong, but he wasn't going to admit that. "Whatever, says the one who has 246 pictures of Jennifer," Sukuna grumbles. Yes, (Y/n) really does have 246 pictures of her, Sukuna counted.
"I- I do not have that many!" (Y/n) sputtered as his face went red. "I bet you have like 400 of Megumi or something!" He countered. "And I don't have that many!" Sukuna responds as well with a blush. "You do too! Your face screams 'I got 400 photos'!" (Y/n) said as he pointed at Sukuna and chuckled. Sukuna grumbles under his breath as he looks to the side with a small blush. "I can't help it, he's just so adorable," Sukuna admits.
"You do have 400 photos! Is that including the naked ones?" (Y/n) asked with a teasing smirk. Sukuna's face quickly turns into a dark scowl. "That is none of your business," he hissed. "I am so teasing Megumi about this later," (Y/n) remarked as he headed forward, finally deciding to explore the area more. Sukuna sulks as he knows Megumi will give him an earful about the exclusive pictures, which is rightfully deserved. He swears he hid them well though, how the fuck did his twin find them? Oh well.
