Chapter 3. 'My' seat is taken

"Hello, Hyde." A joyful voice echoed throughout the second floor when I had just set foot there.

The second floor of this cafe only had a bench beside the only window.

I frowned when I saw Luz, the barber lady, sitting on the right-side seat of the window.

The right-side seat was always Hyde's.

And the left-side seat was... Jekyll's.

I stood still without realizing Luz's worrying face.

"Are you okay? You don't look very well." She asked.

"I am ok, let's start!" I smiled and sat on the left-side seat of the window.

"Would you like to order a cup of ginger tea?" The gentle breeze blew her brown hair lightly.

"Thank you; I ordered chocolate milk already! John will bring it to us later." I answered.

"Wow, you seem very close to this cafe's owner. It is so surprising!"

Maybe she saw the scene when John and I greeted each other at the cafe's main door.

"It must be you; the one is so surprising. How can you book an urgent train ticket to meet me in this city just after my call one day?" I felt curious.

"Ehh... No, I am not that supernatural. It is very hard to book an urgent ticket; I could not do that. Actually, I moved to this city to live 3 days ago." She blinked her eyes.

"Ah, now it makes sense."

"Not only making sense, Hyde. It is God's will." She happily said that.

I scratched my hair again and said, "So what do you want to tell me about that God - Jesus today?"

I did not know why I had thought that I would find something for me in that Jesus's story. Maybe it was because Luz accidentally called me by the lost name 'Jekyll'? Maybe it was because my mom said she loved 'Jekyll' so much that night? Or maybe it was because of Luz's sincere worry for a stranger like me?

I was not sure, but I thought it would not take me anything if I spent time meeting Luz and heard her stories each week.

It was like learning a new course when I had free time.

And of course, recently I had so much free time because I took a leave of absence to spend time taking care of my family, especially my mom.

"Ok, now we will start with the first thing: 'Jesus died to bear our sins and resurrected for our lives'."

"Resurrection? How can a death become a life again? Is he not a ghost?" I asked this because I used to imagine meeting my brother's ghost more than a hundred times.

"Jesus is not a ghost." Then Luz started to tell me more about him.

The time flew by so quickly when I heard her stories that I looked forward to our next week's meeting.
